Chilman (70) vs. ITT (51)

Chilman bounced back from their week 1 loss with a decisive 70-51 defeat of ITT Tech. Rookies Melvin Hicks and Victor Connor exploded for a total of 28 points in the first half to give Chilman a 42-28 lead.  James Reason had another double digit performance (15 points) for ITT, including three 3-point baskets, but limited production from the bench did not keep the game competitive.  The return of James Edmonds, who despite scoring eight of his ten points in the second half, helped ITT score a season high 51 points but he was unable to establish an presence inside the paint. Chilman center William Ikard led all players with ten rebounds and William Lawson scored 14 points for ITT. With the loss, ITT falls to a record of 0-2 on the season.

Closers (36) vs. L.A. Fitness (54)

L.A. fitness remained the only undefeated rookie franchise in the league with a 54-36 defeat of the Closers. With ball control offense and a consistent effort on defense, the Closers possessions were limited as only one player (Dan Espenshade) scored double digits. Closers center Steven Eisenhower lead all first half players with 9 points for the Closers as they took a 29-16 halftime lead. In the second Tim Bowman and Carl Greywacz proved to be an effective outside/inside force as they scored a combined 21 points in the second half. Each player finished the game with 15 points. Matt Skrym, who led the Closers with 9 rebounds, contributed 5 points in the losing effort. Michael Gary, Greg Iverson, Russell Destefano, and Tyler McCarthy all scored for L.A. Fitness.

Rosemont (74) vs. Bulldogs (62)

Rosemont continued their strong start to the 2014 season by scoring more than 70 points in two consecutive weeks in a 74-62 defeat of the Bulldogs. Patrizio Capolli continued his offensive dominance of the league by once again making six 3-point baskets. He finished the game with 22 points as Rosemont ended the first half with nearly a twenty point 46-27 halftime lead. Former Rosemont guard Desmond Robinson was unable to find his range early in the game so the Bulldogs relied on the support of Brenden Nimmons and second year player Lonnie Perry (17 points, 7 rebounds).  A late second half surge by the Bulldogs was unable to make the game close as Rosemont, hit a total of thirteen 3-point baskets. Rookies Rob Smith, Dovavan Womak, and Tremell Green each had double digits (16, 15, and 13 points) for Rosemont. Chris Mayo and Carringotn Wiggins contributed points for the Bullogs.

Silky's All-Stars (53) vs. Lock & Loaded (60)

Silky’s All Stars lost their second straight game and remain winless for the season with a 60-53 loss to Lock & Loaded. Without their coach and starting center, Lock & Loaded rookie Gary Beverly stepped into the starting lineup and scored 15 of his league high 29 points in the first half. Matt Rafferty and Ryan Donovan ran the All-Stars offense to keep Locked & Loaded to a three point 25-22 lead. In the second half, Hassan Muhammad, Braheen Mitchell, and Samir Hickson help keep pressure on the All-Stars with transition points. All-Stars rookie Iomwo Udi Utin continued his impressive rookie campaign by scoring 15 points. Sean Donahue (Silky's) and Antwoine Morgan (L&L) tied for a game high 8 rebounds. Kevin Flynn and former MVP Brandon Moton each scored 10 points for Lock & Locked, who now are have 1-1 record for the season.

Spot Up (79) vs. Chilwear (65)

The league champions of season one and two faced off as Chillwear were defeated by Spot Up 79-65. Spot Up's experience was the difference as four players scored in double figures. Spot Up also scored a season high game total of 79 points as both teams combined for a season high 144 points. From the start, Chillwear was able to keep the game at a fast pace but they were plagued by missed free throws as Chilwear took a 38-21 first half lead fueled by 15 points from MVP Paul Savage. In the second half, Dan Lineberger kept the pressure on Spot Up by scoring 17 of his game high 27 points but late in the second half Julius Blackwell put the game out of reach with two 3-point baskets. Veteran Mike Palmero contributed 11 points for Chillwear in the loss. Jameal Blackwell (12 points), Josh Wells (14 points), and Dana Smith (game high 9 rebounds) contributed to Spot-Up’s extension of their two year winning streak as hold a 2-0 record for the season in hopes of defensing their title.
