Week 5 Scores & Highlights

 

Saints (19) vs. F&F (28)

F&F captured their first regulation win of 2012 and survived several lead changes in a 28-19 defeat of the Saints. The return of the majority of F&F starters overcame a slow start offensively in the victory. The Saints jumped out to 13-8 halftime lead with touchdowns by Keith and QB Mark Cu.  A Shadeed A. and Josh J. two point play would score for F&F in the second half. In the second half, the teams each exchanged touchdowns as the Saints lead 19-14. A Ramona interception would set up the go ahead score and secure an F&F victory. Phil, Brandon, and Shariff scored for F&F with touchdown receptions. Both teams committed six interceptions in the game.

Wolverines (0) vs. Dolphins (6)

 

Dolphins record second win of the season with forfeit but slip to seventh place in the NFFC.

Team America (25) vs. SBD (28)|

 

SBD climbs one game over .500 and Team America slips a game below in a three point victory by SBD. Missed extra point conversions plagued Team America as they battled SBD. Dave J. and Dom each threw four touchdown passes on the day. They each threw female touchdown passes to Kira D. and Danielle S respectively. Team America’s Bob D had two touchdown receptions in the game but SBD’s Craig C matched his two touchdowns and caught three extra points edge the game in SBD’s favor. Jeremy D. and Brooklyn and scores for their teams.

Stallions (14) vs. Bar (35)

Two former UMPR champs faced off in a pivotal NFFC match up. In a game that had rain showers from start to finish, the Bar took command of a game in which the Stallions rallied from a 14 point deficit to win 35-14. The Bar would score on the first points of the game with two touchdowns by Sean D. The Stallions would storm back in the 1st half with touchdowns by Brett and Clarence C. In the second half ,the Stallions offense would stall and they were unable to move the ball. Bar QB Chuck D. would connect for three more touchdowns to seal the game. With the win, the Bar can capture the first NFFC championship next week and Stallions remain in god standing to secure second place in the division.

Warriors (25) vs. Takeover (26)


In the second game decided by missed extra points, Hostile Takeover tightened up the AFFC race with a one point victory over the Warriors. Female players for both teams kept the game close. Dominique and Lashaune L. for the Warriors each found the endzone while Taz G., threw a touchdown pass for Hostile Takeover. Interception returns by Hostile’s Greg M. and Warriors’ Dave F. spark the defenses. Justin H.’s two point conversion and three missed extra points by the Warriors sealed their fate. Antoine and Andre scored touchdowns. With the loss the Warriors fall out of serious contention for the AFFC title.

Soul (18) vs. Machine (39)

 

The Green Machine climbed to third place in the AFFC standings with a 39-14 win over the Soul. The Green Machine’s defense returned three interceptions for scores in a game in which they never trailed.  Touchdowns by Eric H., Eric S. and Chris H. help pace the Green Machine to a 21-6 lead. Nino A. threw a touchdown pass for the Soul to Miquel G .in the first half. In the second half, QB Vince M. would run for a score and throw two of his threw touchdown passes. The Soul would score again late in the game with touchdowns by Captain Bill P. and Nino A.

Ravens (46) vs. Dragons (7)

The Ravens clinched a winning regular season record with a convincing victory over the winless Dragons. The Ravens scored the first 33 points in the game and it started on the first play from scrimmage when Ron V. scrambled 60 yards for a touchdown run. Rasheen G. ,Ron V.  and Mike Manning would score the next three touchdowns including an interception return for a score to take a commanding 33-7 lead. In the second half, The Dragons found the endzone early when Jules ripped off a 50 yard touchdown run. Ron V. would add a second interception touchdown and Austin M. would cap the scoring with an extra point. The Ravens are now in contention for an AFFC title.

Shockers (25) vs. Chargers (18)

 

The shockers continued their dominance over the AFFC and remain undefeated on the season with a defeat of Chargers. Holding on to a one point lead throughout most of the game, the Shockers kept the Chargers at bay with touchdown passes and runs by AFFC player of the week Rodney F. The Chargers showed up to play as QB Darren threw three touchdown passes to Marcus G., Marcus. S., and Jerome but failed to convert all extra points. Reggie B. and Mike C. scored the Shockers and Captain Lauren L. added an extra point for the Shockers.
