Week 3

 

Ex-Presidents (7) SBD (49)

 

The Ex-Presidents scored first on SBD when Rob M. connected with Granford J. to jump out to a 6-0. Bryan H. caught the xpt to make the score 7-0. Matt W. and Dom R. rallied Silent But Deadly back with 2 touchdown runs to go ahead for the lead and make the score 14-7 and halftime. The Ex Presidents defense kept the game close with a sack by Ben E. and interception Bryan H. The score at halftime was 14-7. Dom R. kept the SBD offense with his second TD run and 2 touchdown passes to Chris S. and Eric T. to extend their lead to 20-7. The Silent But Deadly defense dominated the ex-presidents with 2 Interceptions for touchdowns by Dom R. and Chris S. Matt W. added two sacks to help defeat the Ex-Presidensts 49-7.

Stallions (7) vs. Bar (20)

For the third straight week, the Bar scored three touchdowns to capture their third straight win with a 21-7 defeat of the Stallions. The Stallions, with a female player, were able to pressure the Bar defense early, but had dropped balls and lack of coverage in the second half. The Bar struck first when Chuck D. found Eric A. for a touchdown reception and extra point. After stopping the Bar on their next two possessions, the Stallions took a tie into halftime when rookie Steve B. scored his first UMPR touchdown. Travis M. added ad extra point to make the score 7-7 at halftime. In the second, both teams struggled to get the ball into the endzone after sustained drives. On a crucial sequence in late the game, Sean Do. added six points on a touchdown catch to give the Bar the lead, but a missed extra point gave an opportunity for the Stallions. On their next series, they failed to convert a fourth and short, resulting in the Bar gaining possession in the redzone. The Bar sealed the game with anothert Sean Do. sealed touchdown catch Colin W. extra point conversion.

 

Patriots (36) vs. Team America (25)

 

The Patriots and Team America set off U.S.A. fireworks in the highest scoring game of the Fall 2011 UMPR season in a 60 plus total point shootout. In the end, the Patriots won 33-26. Rookie QB Alex P. threw four touchdowns into the Patriots defense but The Patriots David J. found four receivers for five touchdowns. The Patriots defense, despite allowing a season high 26 points, had three sacks from Ben J. and interception from Kyle P., Brian P. for Team America had two touchdown receptions for Team America while  Brandon J., Rafee C.Dave P. , and Justin H. paced the Patriots.

Presidents (14) vs. Dragons (20)

The Dragons came out ready to get their first win of the season while the Ex-Presidents were looking for their first franchise win. Rob M. connected with Granford J. and Bryan H. to make the score. 8-0. The Dragons struggled on offense in the first half after two Bryan H. interceptions. The Dragons pgot on the scoreboard late in the 2nd half. when Stacey M. connected with Jules B. The score at halftime was 8-6. In the second half both defenses played tough until late in the second half. Granford J. caught a long pass from Rob M. to give the Presidents a 14-6 late in the game. The dragons answered back with a 2nd touchdown pass to Jules B. and xpt conversion by Walid A. to tie the score 14-14. The Dragons scored their final touchdown of the day with a 10 yard touchdown run by Stacey M. The Presidents fall to 0-4 and the Dragons improve to 1-3.

F&F (12) vs. Saints (7)

 

 

F&F and Saints both entered the game undefeated but F&F recorded a tie. The Saints defense create a turnover and kept the game scoreless through most of the first half until Joshua J. threw a deep a pass to Shadeed A. to take a 6-0.  Mike L. interecpted Marc C. on the next possesion and keep The Saints offense out of  F&F territory.  The Andrew J. caught his first touchdown of the game to take the 12-0 late in the first half. Jared B. caught a dynamic catch to get the Saints on the board and make the score 12-7. The extra point conversion made the score 12-7. at half. Defense! Defense! Defense!was the story of the second. Both teams failed to get in the redzone until the last minute of the second game. The Saints had 4 downs to win the game and the F&F defense held on to win 12-7

Ravens (27) vs. Green Machine (14)

The Ravens won their third game in a row with a 33-8 victory over the Green Machine.  Despite playing solid defense in the first half and holding a two point lead, The Green Machine were unable to maintain the momentum and surrendered 27 straight points in the second half. The Green Machine scored on their first drive when QB Eric H. found Week 1 player of the week nominee, Jim C. in the endzone. Jesse B. added a two point conversion to give the Green Machine a 8-0 lead. The Ravens struggled on offense in the second half, but found the endzone on the third possession when Rasheem G. hauled in Scott M. In the second half, trailing 6-8, the Ravens would score on each of their drives. Scott M. would connect with Gary D. , Raheem G., Nate R. , and Eric M. for touchdown passes. Jeff V. and Michael S. would add extra points for Ravens offense. Green Machine Rookie females Rose D. and Monica T. played solid for the Green Machine.
